The School House Peak fuel cell system.
SERC has found numerous ways to link our cutting edge fuel cell and hydrogen R&D with the rural community that surrounds us. Through hydrogen demonstration projects and our education and outreach efforts, we are helping California’s north coast to be an early adopter of this clean energy technology.
• Our fuel cell system at Schoolhouse Peak brought telecommunications to remote parts of the Yurok Reservation for the first time.
• Our Stack-in-a-Box® portable fuel cell system allows us to head out into the community and teach local residents about hydrogen and fuel cells.
• Our hydrogen curriculum and miniature fuel cell/electrolyzer experiment kits allowed local high school students to have hands-on classroom experience with these technologies that few students in other communities across the country have even seen yet.
• Our hydrogen fueling station at Humboldt State University is the first place to fill up on the north coast for fuel cell or internal combustion hydrogen vehicle drivers.
