Schatz Energy Research Center

Teachers practice using classroom fuel cell electrolyzer kits.

SERC staff assist HSU’s Environmental Resources Engineering department in teaching laboratories and courses both in our facility and elsewhere on campus. SERC has also offered courses for students and community members through HSU Extended Education. In addition to our local classes and trainings, SERC provides hydrogen and fuel cell safety and awareness training and teacher training to audiences nationwide.

Energy Training Opportunities from Other Organizations:

See our events calendar for opportunities to attend online seminars provided by various public agencies and educational institutions at Schatz Energy Research Center.

Redwood Coast Energy Authority, a joint powers agency representing Humboldt County local governments on energy matters, offers occasional training and professional development opportunities on their online events calendar.

Our local utility, PG&E, offers many energy training opportunities. Most of the courses are taught at PG&E’s Stockton Training Center or their Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco, but some courses are offered in other locations around PG&E’s service territory, including Humboldt County.
