SERC staff assist the ERE department in teaching laboratories and courses both in our facility and elsewhere on campus. SERC also offers a course for community members through HSU Extended Education called “Understanding Grid-Connected Solar Electric Systems- A Course for the Homeowner or Small Business Person.” In addition to our local classes and trainings, SERC provides professional trainings and workshops to audiences nationwide. The Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) frequently offers evening and day-long training workshops on energy topics. Many of these training opportunities are free. See: www.redwoodenergy.org
Our local utility, PG&E, offers many energy training opportunities. Most of the courses are taught at PG&E’s Stockton Training Center or their Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco, but recently PG&E has begun to offer many courses in other locations around their service territory, including Humboldt County.
